Five Steps to Building Your Brand on Twitter

It can be edited to attract or inform followers about new products, services, or web site locations.

Attract Followers

It is after all about who is following you on Twitter and by extension those who follow your followers. In the beginning famous quotes, music, humorous videos and news is an effective tool to attract followers.

Using humor to pitch your product can launch the Twitter version of viral – “the retweet” – and send you message to people far outside your base.

    Yikes. I could not disagree more. Making a sales pitch is not about
    brand building, Twitter is not about selling, it’s about engaging.
    Branding is not about selling, it’s about keeping a promise.

      I definitely agree that the “make your sales pitch” part could have been better worded.

      I think/hope what Ms. Hiller was trying to convey is that there are certain steps to marketing on Twitter, and that they should be followed in a specific order. Too many businesses found on Twitter start their first tweets with “Buy my service! Buy my product!” tweets before they establish a base of followers interested in buying from them.
